High: J. Crew | Low: Old Navy
I’m a big fan of striped shirts – and I love that some of the ones in stores lately have a little something extra. However, you don’t have to pay a fortune for some sparkle and bling to upgrade a basic t-shirt. The J. Crew option will set you back almost $80, but you can have the same look by layering a necklace over a regular t-shirt (and then you’re able to wear the necklace with other outfits too – more bang for your buck, in my opinion.) Alternatively, you can grab a cheap Old Navy tee with some sparkle… or even go the DIY route if you’re feeling crafty!

It’s hard to top jeans and a tee for comfort. I always like to add a little something extra through – like these pink flats, which give a simple outfit a bit of pop. You can actually walk all day in these shoes, too, which is definitely an added bonus for a girl in the city.
PS: Notice how the leaves are starting to change across Toronto? I guess it’s really fall now!

This is basically my fall uniform – comfy jeans, loafers and a blazer over a tee. Seriously, it’s hard to go wrong with a t-shirt & blazer combo (I was actually quoted in The Kit about this recently!)
Do you have any particular clothes or accessories that are your go-to items for fall?
I’m a little bit addicted to stripes right now. A cute striped tee looks effortlessly chic, whether it’s tucked into a pencil skirt, worn under a jacket or blazer, or just casually thrown on with a pair of jeans. Lucky for stripe lovers, this trend shows no signs of stopping, and there’s plenty of great shirts on sale now that can be worn throughout the summer and fall.
1. Gold striped boatneck top, $35.99, J.Crew. 2. Essential rugby crew tee, $15.00, Gap. 3. Striational pocket tee, $29.95, Anthropologie.
Best part? All of these come in multiple colours.
(I bought the middle one in blue/white last night – and in-store, it was only $11.00!)
