I’ve never been a huge fan of camo for clothes – especially the big, chunky variety that looks way too much like actual military gear. But when I spotted this skirt on sale at H&M, I decided to give it a shot. I love how it gives a bit of an edge to an outfit!

High vs. low: Striped tees with sparkle

stripedtees

High: J. Crew | Low: Old Navy

I’m a big fan of striped shirts – and I love that some of the ones in stores lately have a little something extra. However, you don’t have to pay a fortune for some sparkle and bling to upgrade a basic t-shirt. The J. Crew option will set you back almost $80, but you can have the same look by layering a necklace over a regular t-shirt (and then you’re able to wear the necklace with other outfits too – more bang for your buck, in my opinion.) Alternatively, you can grab a cheap Old Navy tee with some sparkle… or even go the DIY route if you’re feeling crafty!

Black & blush

I absolutely love this colour combo for fall & winter party attire. The pairing of black and blush is classic looking, especially with a pair of timeless pumps and statement jewelry. I want every single one of those items above… and goodness knows, there would certainly be lots of places to wear them all with the holidays coming up! (There are already Christmas ads on TV – no joke.)

Cooler temperatures call for chunky knits and comfy cardigans. Here’s a few of my favourite new fall sweaters that look both cozy and stylish. Have you spotted any nice sweaters on store shelves lately?

Bright red & polka dots

Shirt: J. Crew | Skirt: RW&Co. | Purse: Smart Set | Heels: Nine West

I love playing around with colours & patterns in my outfits… today was polka dots paired with bright red, featuring one of my all-time favourite shirts: a silk blouse from J. Crew. Unfortunately it’s getting pretty chilly out, so I don’t think I’ll be wearing outfits like this much longer – might as well enjoy it while I can!

Fall fashion picks

1. Club Monaco | 2. Mango | 3. Banana Republic | 4. Zara | 5. Tory Burch | 6. Aldo | 7. Zara |8. Topshop | 9. Kate Spade | 10. Coach | 11. Club Monaco

I love fall clothing for its richness – there are always deep hues of indigo and crimson on the racks and, of course, lots of basic black. This season there’s also so much happening with patterns and embellishments on clothing too, which leads to lots of fun and fabulous choices for holiday parties… the office… you name it! I love all the pieces I picked above – but especially that dress from Mango (picture it with black tights and heeled boots) and those darling flats from Coach. Also need to get my hands on that Club Monaco necklace – it’s the perfect way to glam up a little black dress.

It’s hard to top jeans and a tee for comfort. I always like to add a little something extra through – like these pink flats, which give a simple outfit a bit of pop. You can actually walk all day in these shoes, too, which is definitely an added bonus for a girl in the city.

PS: Notice how the leaves are starting to change across Toronto? I guess it’s really fall now!
